The Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) is one of the largest and most reputed engineering school in Hungary. It has around 110 departments and institutes organized into 8 faculties. It has more than 20000 students and 1500 faculty members and research staff. A key element of BME’s strategy, in addition to preserving the high reputation as an engineering school, is to become a first class research university. The Laboratory of Cryptography and Systems Security (CrySyS), as a laboratory of the Department of Telecommunications is committed to perform high quality research, teaching, and consulting activities in the field of cryptography and system security. In terms of research work, the laboratory is focused on the security and privacy issues of emerging wireless networks, including wireless mesh networks, wireless sensor networks, vehicle communications, and RFID systems. The laboratory has been involved in several successful EU FP6 projects and multiple national research and development projects. It is currently participating in one FP6 and two FP7 projects.
